Catch up on Rebirth with Detective Comics!

As Doomsday Clock and the end of Rebirth draws near, we take at look at what most consider one of the most consistent titles spiraling out of the new initiative.

Written by James Tynion IV, Detective Comics has done it’s best to capture the magic of the pre-flashpoint DC Universe by bringing back the entire “Batfamily” and putting fan favorite character, Tim Drake into the spotlight once more. Tynion understands exactly what was loved about these characters before the New 52 reboot and it’s apparent with all of the nods and callback throughout this series.

Even though this series has been a dream for fans hoping to bring back the history lost within the universe, what makes this run so enjoyable is the interaction between all of these characters. Tynion does his best to give each of them their own unique voice and even makes you fall in love with Clayface as he makes his shift towards heroism. The emotion and unity that is felt every single issue can’t be overstated, it’s refreshing to see a team book grasp the team element so perfectly.

It’s also important to note that Detective Comics is loaded with clues and references to the greater Rebirth mystery even if we still are in the dark as readers, it’s fun to see these hints of what is coming with Doomsday Clock.

I highly recommend reading Detective Comics if you’re interested in Batman and the Batfamily itself as it’s been one of the pleasant surprises of the Rebirth launch.
